Court grants injunction against GFA officials, AND official liquidator named.

Attorney General, Gloria Akuffo An Accra High Court has granted an injunction against officials of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), thereby paving the way for the Registrar General to be appointed the official liquidator of the local football governing body.The Attorney General, Gloria Akuffo, went to court with a firm plan to liquidate the GFA because, according to her, the Association in its current state is not fit for the purpose for which it was established.The plan to liquidate the GFA was contained in a petition filed by the Attorney-General, acting on behalf of the government, last month at the High Court for the dissolution of the GFA.Deputy Attorney-General, Godfred Dame, told Joy News’ Joseph Ackah-Blay after the ruling on Thursday, that the government is at this point awaiting the conclusion of police investigations to take criminal action against some officials of the GFA. Breaking News, Charlotte Osei and two others sacked. I

The President Nana Akufo-Addo has removed the Electoral Commissioner Charlotte Osei and her two deputies from office for “misbehaviour and incompetence.”The removal is on the recommendation of a committee set up by the Chief Justice Sophia Akuffo to investigate alleged acts of corruption, misconduct and misbehaviour by the three commissioners.The two other commissioners are Amadu Sulley and Ms Georgina Opoku Amankwaa. A statement signed by the Minister of Information Mustapha Hamid said the committee "recommended the removal on the basis of stated misbehaviour and incompetence, pursuant to Article 146 (1) of the Constitution." Mrs Osei, 49, was removed on her third anniversary as chair of the Electoral Commission. A Security officer at Jubilee House arrested for alleged Robbery

A security officer with the Jubilee House in Accra has been arrested by the Legon Police for his alleged involvement in a robbery incident. Issah Muniru was arrested with his accomplice after a series of robberies at East Legon and surrounding areas. Muniru, had a Flagstaff House Identification Number FSH/TEMP/18/134 when he was arrested. Muniru and his accomplice allegedly robbed and assaulted A 70-year-old woman in Accra. However, information reaching us indicates that Muniru has been released after an order from the presidency. Muniru is said to be stationed with the operations unit at the presidency.
