More female students graduate from UCC
Date: Jun 3, 2018 4:53pm I The Seventh Session of the 50th Congregation of the Institute of Education, University of Cape Coast (UCC), saw more females graduating with B.Ed Basic Education and Early Childhood through the Sandwich Programme. Out of the 1,607 graduands, 910 were females as against 697 being males. They were from the Wesley College of Education, Kumasi, Tamale College of Education, OLA College of Education, Cape Coast, St. Teresa’s College of Education, Hohoe, and the Presbyterian College of Education, Akwapim-Akropong. Addressing the graduands, the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Joseph Ghartey-Ampiah, said UCC was scaling up its Diploma in Basic Education Programme to the degree level in accordance to reforms by the Ministry of Education geared towards improving quality of teacher education.
